Children's Social Worker – Looked‑After Children

About the role

Our client Bolton Council is seeking a qualified Children’s Social Worker to join its Looked‑After Children team. You will work directly with children, families, carers and partner professionals to assess needs, manage risk and promote positive outcomes for vulnerable young people.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare for and conduct social work contacts, assessments and interventions.
• Work with individuals, families, carers and groups to develop and implement care plans.
• Assess needs, recommend actions and respond to crisis situations using appropriate legal procedures.
• Collaborate with multi‑disciplinary teams to achieve change and improve life opportunities.
• Develop and maintain networks to meet assessed needs and planned outcomes.
• Address risky behaviours and advocate on behalf of children and families.
• Participate in decision‑making forums and risk management processes.

Required profile

• Qualified Children’s Social Worker, eligible for registration.
• Willingness to register with Remedy for locum positions.
• Ability to obtain an Enhanced DBS disclosure.
• Strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable children.
• Excellent communication and collaborative skills.
