Veterinary Surgeon – Imaging Bias

About the role

Bolton Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Surgeon with a keen interest in imaging. The role combines advanced diagnostic imaging with routine surgical and medical first‑opinion work, allowing you to diagnose and treat complex cases using ultrasound, digital radiography and CT.

Key responsibilities

• Perform and interpret abdominal ultrasounds and digital radiographs.
• Conduct CT examinations and contribute to diagnostic decision‑making.
• Participate in general surgical and medical first‑opinion caseloads.
• Support referral surgeries and the A&E department in a 24/7 hospital environment.

Required profile

• Confident in performing abdominal ultrasounds and interpreting radiographs.
• Holding or working towards a certificate in diagnostic imaging is desirable but not essential.
