Children's Social Worker – MASH Team (Bury)

About the role

This temporary full‑time position is for a qualified Children’s Social Worker to join the MASH team of a Greater Manchester council. You will work on safeguarding cases, collaborating with partner agencies to protect vulnerable children and families in the Bury area.

Key responsibilities

• Screen and assess safeguarding contacts and referrals, identifying need, risk and appropriate interventions.
• Gather, analyse and evaluate information from partner agencies to inform safeguarding decisions.
• Conduct robust risk assessments and recommend statutory intervention, early help or universal services.
• Collaborate with police, health, education and other agencies to ensure effective information sharing and multi‑agency decision‑making.
• Provide safeguarding advice, guidance and consultation to professionals and stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate, timely case records, assessments and reports in line with statutory requirements.
• Prioritise workload in a fast‑paced duty service to deliver timely support.

Required profile

• Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
• Minimum three years’ experience as a qualified social worker.

Required skills

• Safeguarding assessment and risk evaluation.
• Multi‑agency collaboration and information sharing.
• Accurate case record keeping and report writing.
