Children's Support Worker

About the role

Paragon Social Care provides round‑the‑clock support to children and young people in local authority care, especially during crises and transitions. As a Children’s Support Worker you will deliver trauma‑informed care in residential settings and community‑based packages, helping young people rebuild trust and develop resilience.

Key responsibilities

• Provide safe, consistent, trauma‑informed support to children and young people.
• Build positive, professional relationships based on trust and respect.
• Support daily routines, independence, education, and life‑skills development.
• Encourage participation in activities, hobbies, and healthy routines.
• Assist young people to attend appointments, education, and community activities.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to safeguarding and care planning.
• Transport young people as required, using own vehicle.

Required profile

• Calm, resilient and emotionally mature approach.
• Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
• Willingness to complete an enhanced DBS check.
• Experience working with children or young people (paid or voluntary) is desirable.
• NVQ Level 3 in Children’s Residential Care is desirable but not essential.
