Civil Design Engineer – Infrastructure Projects

About the role

As a Design Engineer in the Infrastructure team, you will deliver sustainable, technically excellent, and commercially successful engineering solutions across masterplanning and infrastructure projects in the UK. You will support project delivery, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to business development and technical governance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead client liaison and support business development.
• Coordinate project delivery, resources, and design documentation.
• Develop engineering solutions and lead design philosophy.
• Produce preliminary and detailed designs for temporary and permanent works.
• Carry out design checking, technical reporting and subcontractor coordination.
• Develop erection schemes and specialist engineering methodologies.
• Support Associates and Associate Directors with resource planning and project coordination.
• Support cost control, fee proposals, and project variations.
• Conduct site inspections and provide technical support to site teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and ensure compliance with quality, health & safety procedures.

Required profile

• A degree in Civil Engineering.
• Working towards chartership with the ICE, or already Chartered/Incorporated.
• Proven experience delivering infrastructure and bespoke projects.
• Flexibility and initiative to rise to challenging situations.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Civil 3D.
• Proficiency in Microdrainage.
• Proficiency in Navisworks.
