Class 1 Shunter/Driver – Part‑Time

About the role

This is a part‑time Class 1 Driver Shunter position offering 20‑30 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Hours are discussed at interview and flexibility is provided based on driver preference. Overtime may be available and fully funded CPC training is included.

Key responsibilities

• Perform shunting duties at the Thamesmead site using air‑conditioned vehicles.
• Deliver goods to customers, which may involve hand‑ball and manual handling.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions while maintaining safety standards.
• Maintain up‑to‑date Driver CPC certification and attend training as required.
• Take a paid 30‑minute break each shift.

Required profile

• Holder of a valid Class 1 licence.
• Driver CPC certification.
• Ability to provide excellent customer service.
• Physical capability to perform manual and outdoor work.
• Experience in shunting is preferred but not essential.
