Class 2 HGV Driver – 12‑week Temp to Perm in Southampton

About the role

Driver Hire Southampton is seeking a motivated Class 2 HGV driver for a 12‑week temporary‑to‑permanent role delivering carpets and flooring materials across the South Coast. The position runs Monday to Friday, starting at 6:00 am, with the opportunity to secure a permanent contract after the initial period.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver carpets and flooring materials to residential and business locations across the South Coast.
• Complete up to 15 deliveries per shift, starting at 6:00 am and working until the finish.
• Operate an electric pump truck to off‑load stock and hand‑ball products from the vehicle.
• Maintain accurate delivery records and communicate with customers.

Required profile

• Full UK Class 2 licence with a valid CPC and digital tachograph card.
• At least 1 year of HGV driving experience.
• Physically fit for heavy lifting and able to use a tail‑lift.
• Own transport for commuting to the depot.
• Strong time‑keeping and communication abilities.
