Class Teacher – Special School

About the role
We are seeking a passionate Class Teacher to join a highly supportive special school in Coleshill. You will work with a small group of pupils who have a range of special educational needs, delivering personalised, engaging lessons in a nurturing environment.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver differentiated lessons for a small class of SEND pupils.
- Support pupils' academic, social and emotional development.
- Create a safe, structured and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
- Collaborate closely with Teaching Assistants and specialist staff.
- Monitor progress and contribute to each pupil’s EHCP targets.
- Build positive relationships with parents, carers and external agencies.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Experience teaching primary or secondary‑aged pupils.
- Strong commitment to inclusive education and SEND.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- Patient, creative and resilient approach.
- Previous SEND experience desirable but not essential.
Required skills
- Ability to adapt learning materials to a variety of needs.
- Proficiency in using specialist educational resources and assistive technology.
