Class Teacher – Special School

About the role

We are seeking a passionate Class Teacher to join a highly supportive special school in Coleshill. You will work with a small group of pupils who have a range of special educational needs, delivering personalised, engaging lessons in a nurturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver differentiated lessons for a small class of SEND pupils.
• Support pupils' academic, social and emotional development.
• Create a safe, structured and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
• Collaborate closely with Teaching Assistants and specialist staff.
• Monitor progress and contribute to each pupil’s EHCP targets.
• Build positive relationships with parents, carers and external agencies.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Experience teaching primary or secondary‑aged pupils.
• Strong commitment to inclusive education and SEND.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• Patient, creative and resilient approach.
• Previous SEND experience desirable but not essential.

Required skills

• Ability to adapt learning materials to a variety of needs.
• Proficiency in using specialist educational resources and assistive technology.
