Clerk of Works – Facades (London)

About the role

Brandon James Ltd is seeking an experienced Clerk of Works with a façade specialism to join its London team. You will be responsible for overseeing cladding remediation and façade projects, ensuring they meet design intent, regulatory standards and best‑practice quality levels.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out regular site inspections on live cladding remediation and façade construction works.
• Perform Clerk of Works‑style inspections to monitor workmanship, materials and installation quality.
• Assess works against drawings, specifications, contract requirements and approved details.
• Identify defects, non‑compliance and deviations from design intent and produce clear site inspection reports.
• Complete technical and quality‑assurance audits of façade works and review design and engineering information.
• Respond to RFIs, support technical queries and assist with design reviews and remediation solutions.
• Undertake intrusive inspections, measurements and material sampling where required.
• Monitor compliance with fire safety and building‑safety regulations.
• Collaborate with project management, cost teams and external design consultants.

Required profile

• Minimum five years’ experience in a consultancy, engineering or built‑environment role.
• At least three years of practical site‑inspection experience on façade or cladding projects.
• Proven ability to work closely with senior façade consultants and multidisciplinary project teams.
