Clerk of Works – Site‑Based Quality Role

About the role

Circle Development is looking for an ambitious Clerk of Works to join its Quality Team. The role is hands‑on, site‑based and client‑facing, working across residential, industrial and education projects in London and the South‑East.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out regular, structured site inspections on multiple projects.
• Review works in progress and completed works for quality and compliance with drawings, specifications and regulations.
• Identify, record and follow up on defects, observations and non‑conformances.
• Use Circle’s inspection and reporting app to capture photos, observations and produce real‑time reports.
• Liaise directly with contractors, clients and the wider project team.
• Escalate unresolved or repeated issues as required.
• Maintain accurate, auditable inspection records and trackers.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a construction professional – Clerk of Works, Site Manager or equivalent.
• Chartered status – ICWCI and/or MCIOB.
• Strong construction knowledge and technical understanding.
• Confident communicator, able to challenge poor workmanship constructively.
• Competent using digital inspection or snagging software.
