Client Accountant

About the role

The Client Accountant will join Residential Management Group’s Hoddesdon head office to prepare and review service charge accounts for the past year. You will work closely with property managers, external accountants, auditors and internal teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and produce service charge accounts within agreed deadlines.
• Liaise with Property Managers to answer client queries and gather necessary data.
• Collaborate with external accountants and auditors to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
• Reconcile completed accounts back to the finance system.
• Provide escalation support for complex internal and external queries.
• Follow company processes, procedures and policies.
• Assist with monthly and quarterly financial reporting.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a finance or accounts role.
• Strong attention to detail and effective time‑management skills.
• Excellent communication and customer‑service abilities.
• Ability to make independent and collaborative decisions based on evidence.
• Understanding of pre‑payments, accruals, journal posting and double‑entry accounting.
• Studying towards a financial qualification (AAT, ACCA, CIMA) is a plus.
• Experience in the property sector, particularly with service charge accounts, is desirable.
