Client Manager – General Practice (Abingdon)

About the role

Pro‑Finance is seeking an experienced practice accountant to join its Abingdon office as a Client Manager. You will manage a diverse portfolio of owner‑managed businesses, providing a full range of accountancy and tax services while building long‑term client relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of limited companies, sole traders, partnerships and other owner‑managed businesses.
• Prepare and review statutory accounts and tax returns.
• Handle corporation tax, personal tax and VAT returns, including Making Tax Digital support.
• Provide bookkeeping, management accounts and advisory services as required.
• Advise clients on cloud accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, FreeAgent and KashFlow.
• Support clients with business structure, tax efficiency and general commercial queries.
• Act as the day‑to‑day point of contact, building trusted relationships.
• Collaborate closely with directors and the wider practice team.

Required profile

• Current experience in an accountancy practice (e.g., Accounts Senior, Senior Accountant, Assistant Manager or Client Manager).
• Enjoys variety, autonomy and direct client interaction.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple client deadlines.
