Clinical Lead Orthotist

About the role

We are seeking a Clinical Lead Orthotist to provide strategic clinical leadership for our Orthotic Services across North Wales. The successful candidate will shape service standards, guide clinical practice and support the development of a skilled orthotics workforce.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain clinical standards in line with best practice.
• Provide expert clinical advice to the organisation, particularly to the Head of Podiatry and Orthotics.
• Create and deliver a competency‑based framework and skills‑based training for orthotist practitioners.
• Conduct critical analysis, appraisal and synthesis of current research and literature to ensure evidence‑based practice.
• Lead audit and innovation initiatives within the orthotic service.
• Travel between sites as required to support service delivery.

Required profile

• Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
• Extensive experience working in orthotics, including post‑registration practice.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a team and manage clinical projects.
• Experience of clinical audit, research appraisal and service innovation.
• Willingness to travel between sites in a timely manner.

Required skills

• HCPC registration.
