Clinical Negligence Solicitor (NQ‑5 PQE) – Bristol

About the role

Our client, a leading international firm with a growing presence in Bristol, is seeking a Clinical Negligence Solicitor (NQ‑5 PQE) to join their defendant clinical risk team. The role operates on a hybrid basis, combining office work with remote days, and offers the chance to handle a varied caseload for NHS bodies, insurers and private providers.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a defendant‑side clinical negligence portfolio, including NHS Resolution, NHS Trusts and medical malpractice insurers.
• Draft pleadings, statements of case and other legal documents.
• Conduct face‑to‑face negotiations and mediate claims.
• Prepare cases for court, adhere to deadlines and manage procedural matters.
• Provide day‑to‑day client contact and commercially‑focused legal advice.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with NQ‑5 PQE experience in clinical risk or related litigation.
• Defendant experience preferred, but strong claimant clinical negligence background accepted.
• Excellent client handling and relationship skills.
• Willingness to work full‑time or part‑time.
