Clinical Pharmacist – 12‑month Fixed‑Term Contract

About the role

Spire Leicester Hospital is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract to join its Pharmacy department. The role offers the opportunity to deliver a comprehensive pharmacy service within a private hospital setting, supporting a diverse range of surgical and medical specialties.

Key responsibilities

• Provide clinical advice and support to consultants, nurses and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe, appropriate and cost‑effective use of medicines.
• Assess patients’ medication needs, review prescriptions and contribute to individualised treatment plans.
• Collect, collate and analyse pharmacy‑related data, producing reports that inform quality‑improvement initiatives.
• Promote best practice, support non‑medical prescribing where applicable and suggest new processes or equipment to enhance patient safety.
• Maintain strong working relationships with multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes.

Required profile

• Pharmacy degree and current GPhC registration.
• Minimum of one year post‑qualifying experience in a hospital (NHS or private) setting.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments.
• Motivation to deliver a comprehensive pharmacy service in a fast‑paced environment.
• Non‑medical prescribing experience is advantageous.
