Clinical Pharmacist – Antimicrobial Stewardship

About the role

We are looking for two motivated pharmacists to deliver clinical pharmacy services across the Renal, Respiratory, Cardiology, Vascular (RRCV) and the Major Surgical Units (MSSUGGS) while supporting the Trust’s Antimicrobial Stewardship programme. The posts split time between ward‑based pharmacy work and antimicrobial pharmacy duties, offering a unique blend of specialist clinical practice and stewardship experience.

Key responsibilities

• Provide ward and clinic based clinical pharmacy services including medicines reconciliation, clinical review, monitoring and patient counselling.
• Offer medicines advice to multidisciplinary teams and contribute to audit, guideline development and medicines governance.
• Support the Trust’s antimicrobial stewardship programme by advising on antimicrobial prescribing, participating in stewardship ward rounds and leading audit and quality‑improvement initiatives.
• Work across multiple specialties such as renal, respiratory, cardiology, trauma, orthopaedics and specialist surgery.

Required profile

• Registered pharmacist with experience in acute or chronic hospital settings.
• Demonstrated interest or experience in antimicrobial stewardship.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
