Clinical Pharmacist (Independent Prescriber) – Bristol

About the role

As a Clinical Pharmacist with Independent Prescriber status, you will deliver personalised, safe treatments to patients with complex, life‑changing conditions, enjoying real autonomy and the chance to shape future care pathways.

Key responsibilities

• Clinically check and review cannabis‑based medicine (CBPM) prescriptions for safety and accuracy.
• Prescribe CBPMs as an Independent Prescriber, tailoring treatment to individual patient needs.
• Provide expert guidance to prescribers, patients and the dispensary team on treatment options.
• Maintain accurate patient records in line with GPhC standards.
• Deliver education and training on CBPMs to patients, clinicians and staff.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop clinical pathways, improve processes and support service enhancements.

Required profile

• GPhC‑registered pharmacist with an Independent Prescriber qualification.
• Minimum 2 years of prescribing experience in a clinical setting.
• Willingness to undergo specialised training in cannabis‑based medicines if not already experienced.
• Strong communication skills across clinical and non‑clinical audiences.
• Excellent time‑management, problem‑solving and organisational abilities.
