Clinical Research Doctor in Cancer Imaging

About the role

This full‑time clinical research fellowship is based in the Department of Radiology at The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust. It supports the Trust’s cancer imaging research programme and delivers high‑quality imaging response assessment for clinical trials.

Key responsibilities

• Undertake baseline and follow‑up RECIST assessments for oncology trials.
• Provide expert advice on complex trial imaging queries, including lesion selection and response categorisation.
• Support the RECIST service and contribute to Biomedical Research Centre‑related imaging research.
• Participate in weekly RECIST meetings and tumour‑specific trial imaging meetings.
• Receive structured training in the Royal Marsden RECIST workflow and use local imaging software and reporting processes.

Required profile

• Radiologist who is post‑FRCR or equivalent.
• Full GMC registration or eligibility for full registration.
• Experience in clinical imaging and cancer imaging research.
• Ability to develop expertise in RECIST and other response criteria within a specialist oncology centre.

Required skills

• RECIST/imaging response assessment workflow.
• Use of local imaging software systems for reporting.
