Clinical Unit Manager (RGN/RMN)

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Clinical Unit Manager to lead the clinical and operational delivery of care at Alexander House, a 67‑bed care home in Pinhoe, Exeter. This senior position will ensure safe, high‑quality care for residents while supporting and developing the clinical team.

Key responsibilities

• Provide clinical and operational leadership for the unit, maintaining high standards of safety and effectiveness.
• Lead and support the clinical and care teams, ensuring care aligns with individual care plans and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee clinical governance, medication management, and performance monitoring across the unit.
• Drive continuous improvement, respond proactively to changes, and support service delivery alongside the Home Manager.
• Act as a role model, offering guidance, mentoring, and support to staff.
• Work alternate weekends as part of the rota.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RGN or RMN) with an active NMC PIN.
• Strong clinical leadership and decision‑making abilities.
• Experience leading or managing a clinical team, preferably in a unit manager capacity.
• Confidence in overseeing standards, compliance, and performance.
• Ability to mentor, develop, and support staff.
• Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills.

What we offer

• £24.00 per hour, contracted to 48 hours per week.
• Paid NMC registration, breaks, DBS checks, pension and uniform.
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (full‑time basis).
