CNC Machinist – Precision Driller (Fanuc/Siemens)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join a dynamic subcontract machining team in Chessington. The role focuses on long‑cycle‑time precision gun boring and drilling for high‑tolerance components across aerospace, oil & gas, nuclear, automotive and general engineering sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Perform long‑cycle‑time precision drilling and gun boring to tight tolerances.
• Set up and operate CNC machines using Fanuc or Siemens controls.
• Align machines and maintain a consistently high standard of workmanship.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and process documents.
• Use standard measuring equipment to verify work against specifications.
• Handle components and free‑issue material of varying qualities.
• Comply with health & safety requirements.
• Maintain ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards throughout the process.

Required profile

• Apprentice‑trained or time‑served engineer.
• Strong understanding of precision machining and engineering.
• Hard‑working, reliable, proactive problem‑solver and strong team player.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and flexible hours when needed.

Required skills

• Fanuc CNC control.
• Siemens CNC control.

• Operation of measuring equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers).
