CNC Miller (Heidenhain) – 4‑Day Week, £16.62/hr

About the role

We are looking for an experienced CNC Miller to join a manufacturing operation in Chorley. The successful candidate will program, set‑up and run Heidenhain‑controlled milling machines directly from technical drawings, delivering parts to tight tolerances.

Key responsibilities

• Program, set‑up and operate Heidenhain CNC milling machines.
• Interpret engineering and technical drawings to produce components.
• Ensure parts meet strict tolerance and quality standards.
• Carry out basic machine maintenance and perform quality checks.
• Maintain a safe, clean and organised workshop environment.

Required profile

• Time‑served CNC Miller with proven experience on Heidenhain controls.
• Confident in programming directly at the machine.
• Strong understanding of engineering drawings and measuring equipment.
• Self‑motivated and able to work independently.

Required skills

• Heidenhain CNC milling machine operation.
• CNC programming at the machine.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Use of precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
• Basic machine maintenance.
