CNC Service Engineer – Home‑Based (North West England)

About the role

This position is a home‑based, field‑service role covering a local North West patch. You will travel to customer sites within a two‑hour radius to service, maintain and repair high‑spec CNC machine tools, ensuring they operate at peak performance.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine service, breakdown response and precision alignments on CNC machinery.
• Diagnose faults, replace components, and carry out spindle, ball‑screw and full machine rebuilds.
• Provide on‑site technical support to a varied customer base across Manchester, Lancashire, Leeds, Liverpool, Sheffield, York and surrounding areas.
• Maintain accurate service records and report findings to the engineering team.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with CNC machine tools or similar equipment.
• Strong fault‑finding and maintenance abilities.
• Preferably an electrical or mechanical engineering background.
• Willingness to travel locally and work independently.
