Collections Officer – Flexible On‑Call Role

About the role

This on‑call Collections Officer position supports a long‑standing pharmaceutical and healthcare partner by conducting drug and alcohol testing at client sites across the South West. The role is casual and highly flexible, with work offered on an as‑required basis.

Key responsibilities

• Visit client locations such as factories, airports and manufacturing facilities to perform toxicology testing on employees.
• Provide 12‑ or 24‑hour standby coverage, including evenings, nights and weekends.
• Maintain accurate records of test results and ensure compliance with health‑and‑safety regulations.
• Travel up to 50 miles (up to two hours) when on call, using own vehicle.

Required profile

• Valid driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational ability.
• Customer‑facing experience and good communication skills.
• Willingness to commit to three weekdays and two weekends per month on standby.

• Standby rate of £22 per 24‑hour period.
• In‑hours rate of £15 per hour, with call‑out and pre‑booked visit rates of £17‑£18.
• Out‑of‑hours rate of £37.50 per hour for emergency visits.
