Commercial Account Handler – Insurance Portfolio Management

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Account Handler to manage a diverse portfolio of commercial insurance clients, including SMEs, property owners and liability risks. The role is office‑based in Potters Bar and involves delivering end‑to‑end service throughout the policy lifecycle while building strong relationships with both clients and insurers.

Key responsibilities

• Manage new business, renewals, mid‑term adjustments and policy cancellations.
• Prepare professional renewal presentations and documentation for insurers.
• Liaise with clients and insurers to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Maintain accurate, compliant client records in line with FCA and GDPR requirements.
• Identify cross‑selling and upselling opportunities across the portfolio.
• Support premium funding, credit control and general account administration.

Required profile

• Strong commercial insurance knowledge.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Proactive, organised and able to work in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of Acturis insurance management system.
