Commercial Account Handler

About the role

We are seeking a Commercial Account Handler to join a fast‑growing insurance brokerage in Thurrock. You will be the primary technical contact for a portfolio of B2B clients, delivering expert advice and ensuring smooth policy administration.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day support and retention for a diverse range of commercial client accounts.
• Manage renewals, mid‑term adjustments, policy amendments and cancellations with accuracy.
• Prepare broking presentations, negotiate terms and premiums with insurers and underwriters, and secure optimal cover.
• Identify coverage gaps, cross‑sell additional products and contribute to portfolio growth.
• Assist clients with initial claim notifications and liaise with insurers to facilitate prompt resolution.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 + years of hands‑on experience in commercial insurance (property, casualty or motor trade).
• Strong market‑broking abilities and excellent written and verbal communication.
• Attention to detail when handling policy documentation.
• GCSE Grade 4/C (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
• Team‑player with a drive for high service standards and professional development.

Required skills

• Familiarity with insurance platforms such as Acturis, Open GI or SSP.
