Commercial Account Handling Manager

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Commercial Account Handling Manager to lead a portfolio of commercial insurance clients and a team of account managers. The role combines hands‑on client servicing with people‑leadership, ensuring high renewal retention and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and service your own portfolio of commercial insurance clients, handling renewals, mid‑term adjustments and new business enquiries.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, insurers and internal stakeholders.
• Oversee a team of three/four Commercial Account Managers, providing coaching, performance reviews and workload allocation.
• Monitor renewal pipelines, support complex renewals and ensure timely, accurate client documentation.
• Drive best practice in account management, cross‑selling and client retention.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal standards across the account handling function.

Required profile

• Proven experience in commercial insurance account handling or a senior account management role.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a small team.
• Strong client‑facing skills with a focus on service quality and retention.
• Excellent organisational and analytical abilities.
