Commercial Business Advisor – Food & Beverage & Consumer Goods

About the role

Based in central London, you will act as a stakeholder‑savvy commercial adviser, providing business planning and strategic insight to New Zealand exporters in the Food & Beverage and Consumer Goods sectors. You will partner with innovative Kiwi companies to develop and execute go‑to‑market plans across UK retail, wholesale, food service and on‑premise channels.

Key responsibilities

• Provide business planning and strategic insight to a diverse portfolio of exporters.
• Develop and execute go‑to‑market strategies across UK retail, wholesale, food service and on‑premise channels.
• Coach leadership teams to identify product niches, market approaches and optimal route‑to‑market strategies.
• Evaluate exporters' strengths, weaknesses and opportunities, supporting market entry and growth.
• Collaborate with internal teams and key stakeholders on initiatives that drive customer growth.
• Capture all interactions in the CRM system and identify emerging market trends.
• Deliver high‑impact in‑market projects that reduce barriers to entry for New Zealand exporters.

Required profile

• Strong stakeholder engagement skills with credibility to work with large trading organisations and high‑growth exporters.
• Solid understanding of market entry and route‑to‑market strategies across UK retail, wholesale, food service and on‑premise channels.
• Sector knowledge of Food & Beverage (and ideally Consumer Goods) with awareness of relevant regulatory contexts.
• Keen business acumen, experience working alongside CEOs, and a willingness to roll up your sleeves.
• Superior communication, business consulting and relationship management abilities.
• Deep knowledge of the UK commercial landscape and how to do business in the United Kingdom.
• Enthusiastic, proactive, creative problem‑solver able to work in virtual, cross‑sector teams.
