Commercial Manager – Procurement (Temporary, London)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to lead complex procurement and sourcing activities for Transport for London. The role involves developing strategies, managing tender processes and delivering commercial improvements within a dynamic public‑sector environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead complex end‑to‑end procurement and sourcing activities.
• Develop procurement strategies and route‑to‑market approaches.
• Manage tender processes, supplier evaluations and commercial recommendations.
• Draft governance papers and support approval processes.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the organisation.
• Apply market insight and commercial knowledge to support decision‑making.
• Identify opportunities to deliver value for money and commercial improvements.
• Ensure procurement activity complies with relevant regulations and governance requirements.

Required profile

• Strong public‑sector procurement experience.
• Proven background in pre‑contract procurement, tendering and evaluation.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
• Experience developing procurement strategies and sourcing approaches.
• Strong commercial awareness and analytical capability.
