Commercial Manager - Supply Chain & Procurement

About the role

The Commercial Manager leads and manages commercial, purchasing and stock control activities across Scotland, supporting business objectives by maximising commercial income, improving sales profitability and helping deliver EBITDA targets. The role works closely with operational, sales and product management teams and provides leadership to stock control teams.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to EBITDA, profitability and budget targets, and maximise commercial income through product throughput and purchasing.
• Lead the end-to-end supply chain function, coordinate stock purchases via supplier contracts and manage import purchasing where required.
• Monitor stock levels at Glasgow and Perth depots, manage inventory against KPIs and coordinate stock procurement and movements.
• Act as the key stock and procurement contact for major customers and suppliers, monitor supplier OTIF performance and resolve supply-related customer issues.
• Lead and develop Stock Control teams, including performance reviews, coaching and training.
• Work with Sales, Product Management and Operations, and report regularly to the Regional Customer Service & Procurement Manager.
• Promote compliance with health, safety and environmental procedures.

Required profile

• Previous experience managing supply chain, procurement or stock control functions in a target-driven environment.
• Proven leadership experience with team management and development.
• Experience managing supplier relationships and procurement activities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Required skills

• Desirable: CIPS qualification or active pursuit of professional procurement accreditation.
• Desirable: experience in a multi-site distribution or industrial environment.
• Desirable: knowledge of SAP systems and processes, and experience managing imports and complex supply chains.
