Communications & Engagement Advisor

About the role

We are looking for a Communications & Engagement Advisor to join our team in Bradford (future base Leeds). You will lead proactive communication and engagement for Yorkshire Water’s capital investment programmes, helping customers and communities understand the work being carried out across Yorkshire.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver bespoke communication plans for capital schemes, translating complex engineering concepts into clear messages.
• Engage with local communities, stakeholders and customers to build understanding of investment projects.
• Coordinate proactive outreach activities, ensuring timely information about project timelines, benefits and impacts.
• Collaborate with internal teams to align messaging with corporate objectives and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor and evaluate engagement outcomes, providing feedback to improve future communications.

Required profile

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to simplify technical information.
• Experience in public engagement, community relations or similar communications roles.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Flexibility to work across office, home and on‑site locations.

• Salary £38,465‑£48,080 per annum (dependent on experience).
