Communications Lead – Rugby Development

About the role

We are seeking a passionate communications professional to lead the narrative for Rugby Development at Scottish Rugby. In this role you will shape how the community game is presented, ensuring its stories reach a wider audience and have a lasting impact.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a communications strategy aligned with Rugby Development’s strategic priorities.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Social and Content teams as the primary voice for community‑game messaging.
• Identify and promote key milestones and moments across the rugby calendar.
• Champion the domestic and community game, ensuring consistent representation in media and public forums.
• Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including grassroots clubs, to maximise reach and impact of stories.

Required profile

• Ability to translate high‑level priorities into clear, compelling narratives.
• Proven track record of building strong media relationships and delivering impactful coverage.
• Confident collaborator who can forge trusted relationships with partners, colleagues and grassroots organisations.
• Experience leading integrated communication plans across communications, marketing and digital channels.
