Communications Officer

About the role

We are looking for a Communications Officer to develop and deliver integrated regional communications plans across the North East and South London, supporting both local and corporate initiatives. The role involves creating a variety of content, providing communications advice, and engaging directly with residents and community partners.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement communication plans for regeneration consultations, new developments, and community engagement events.
• Identify and draft newsworthy content for target audiences, including letters, newsletters, web articles and social media posts.
• Act as a roving reporter, producing news articles, photography and video for multiple channels.
• Collaborate with communications and marketing teams to create content for national campaigns, adapting it to the organisation’s brand and values.
• Contribute to publications such as the resident magazine and annual reports.
• Support Communications Business Partners with monitoring and evaluation activities.
• Spend time in communities building relationships with residents and local teams.

Required profile

• Strong interpersonal and relationship‑building skills, confident working with colleagues at all levels.
• Excellent written communication, able to adapt style for different channels and audiences.
• Highly organised with strong time‑management and the ability to juggle multiple initiatives.
• Meticulous attention to detail and a proactive mindset.
