Community Dietitian – Nutrition and Dietetics

About the role

The NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Dietetic Service is seeking a permanent Band 5 Community Dietitian to join the South Quadrant team at Drumchapel Health Centre. You will deliver evidence‑based nutrition care across homes, clinics, care homes and supported accommodation for a diverse population.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and provide dietetic services to patients in community settings, covering conditions such as enteral feeding, diabetes, gastrointestinal disorders, paediatrics, heart disease and metabolic syndrome.
• Conduct in‑person and digital group sessions on topics like diabetes management and weaning.
• Collaborate with patients, carers, nurses, doctors and other allied health professionals.
• Undertake quality‑improvement activities to enhance service delivery.
• Develop and deliver education and training for healthcare staff and carers.
• Supervise, mentor and teach student dietitians, dietetic support workers and administrative staff.

Required profile

• Qualified dietitian with the ability to motivate patients to adopt lifelong dietary changes.
• Experience (minimum 1 month) in community or clinical dietetics.
• Strong negotiation and behaviour‑change skills.
