Community Mental Health Charge Nurse (Band 6) – Adult Services

About the role

The NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking a qualified Community Mental Health Charge Nurse (Band 6) to join the adult community mental health team at the Shawpark Resource Centre, based in Maryhill. This role provides clinical leadership, case management and supervision within a multidisciplinary team delivering community‑based mental health services.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan, review and discharge individuals within a defined caseload.
• Liaise with GPs, primary care workers, consultants and statutory bodies to coordinate referrals.
• Provide regular caseload management, clinical supervision and appraisal support to junior nursing staff.
• Prioritise workloads, allocate resources and ensure safe, effective service delivery.
• Maintain accountability to the Nurse Team Leader for workload and delegated tasks.

Required profile

• Current, live NMC UK PIN and registration.
• Registered Mental Nurse with substantial community experience at Band 5.
• Evidence of continuing professional development and a valid driving licence.
• Excellent communication, organisational skills and ability to work independently.
• Experience in appraisal, clinical supervision and caseload management.
