Community Programmes Manager - Employment and Skills

About the role

We are seeking an inspiring Community Programmes Manager to lead the delivery and development of employment and skills services across Calderdale. You will join Newground Together, a charity within the Together Housing Group, and work to improve lives and strengthen communities through innovative programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and develop Community Programmes Coordinators and frontline staff to deliver high‑quality employment and skills services.
• Build and maintain strategic partnerships with local authorities, funders, community organisations and external stakeholders.
• Drive continuous improvement, ensuring services remain innovative, customer‑led and outcome‑focused.
• Develop business plans, monitor operational performance and implement service enhancements.
• Manage budgets, monitor expenditure and ensure robust financial governance.
• Identify and secure external funding opportunities, supporting the preparation of bids and commercial proposals.
• Champion customer engagement to ensure programmes reflect local needs.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in employment, skills or community development.
• Strong partnership‑working ability with public, private and third‑sector organisations.
• Commitment to delivering measurable social impact and improving community wellbeing.
• Understanding of diversity and inclusion principles; Disability Confident employer.
