Community Respiratory Nurse (Part‑time, 22 hrs/week)

About the role

The Community Respiratory Service is seeking a specialist respiratory nurse to join its on‑call team. Working from the Woodside Health and Care Centre, you will support patients with moderate to severe COPD in their own homes and provide supervision to junior staff.

Key responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and assess patient needs, implementing evidence‑based care programmes.
• Prioritise and manage patient caseload autonomously, triaging work according to clinical urgency.
• Collaborate with the Respiratory Early Supported Discharge team, Pulmonary Rehabilitation team and consultants.
• Maintain accurate patient records in line with NMC guidelines.
• Act as a specialist resource and role model, integrating research and audit findings into practice.

Required profile

• Registered nurse with a current NMC registration.
• Experience working with COPD or other respiratory patients.
• Ability to work independently and supervise junior staff.
• Membership of Disclosure Scotland’s PVG scheme.
• Part‑time availability (22 hours per week) on a fixed‑term contract for 1 year.
