Community Trainer

About the role

We are seeking a passionate Community Trainer to join our Advice Team in Gateshead. You will strengthen the skills and knowledge of frontline staff and volunteers across voluntary, community, faith and statutory sectors, helping residents cope with cost‑of‑living pressures.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver accessible training on benefits, debt and energy costs for frontline workers and volunteers.
• Identify training needs with partner organisations and maintain a relevant programme.
• Deliver sessions both online and in community venues across Gateshead, adapting content for diverse audiences.
• Meet delivery targets, capture feedback, keep accurate records and support colleagues and volunteers involved in training.
• Build relationships with voluntary, community, faith and statutory organisations to strengthen capacity and spot emerging issues.
• Contribute to internal training, provide insight for social policy work and champion equality, diversity and inclusion.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing and delivering training programmes.
• Understanding of the challenges facing Gateshead communities.
• Strong communication, facilitation and partnership‑building abilities.
• Flexibility to support a 7‑day service schedule.

Required skills

• ICT proficiency for creating and managing training materials.
