About the role
As a Support Worker at Depaul you will provide vital assistance to women transitioning from prison into housing and their local communities. The role focuses on delivering emergency support and ensuring safety and wellbeing during evening and night‑time hours.
Key responsibilities
- Respond to service users, offering emotional support and addressing neighbourhood concerns.
- Assist women with housing difficulties, emotional distress and other daily challenges.
- Carry out regular safety checks of accommodation and report any issues.
- Respond to emergencies and incidents, maintaining the safety and welfare of service users.
- Complete incident reports, wellbeing checks and other administrative tasks in line with Depaul policies.
- Ensure all documentation complies with confidentiality and data‑protection regulations.
- Participate in team meetings, case handovers and training sessions to maintain a consistent service delivery.
Required profile
- Minimum Level 2 qualification in a social‑care field (NVQ or GCSEs).
- At least one year of paid experience working with vulnerable individuals, preferably in housing or community outreach.
- Experience in crisis intervention and providing emotional support is desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to remain calm in challenging or emergency situations.
- Good written and verbal communication for accurate incident documentation.
- Problem‑solving ability to make quick decisions and respond appropriately to incidents.
- Understanding of housing issues, homelessness, and community integration.
- Ability to work independently during night shifts and flexibly on evenings and weekends.
