Compliance Officer – Legal (Manchester City Centre)

About the role

We are seeking a Compliance Officer – Legal to join a long‑established UK law firm in Manchester city centre. The role supports the COLP and strengthens regulatory standards across the practice, working closely with the compliance team.

Key responsibilities

• Supporting with claims & complaints
• Conducting checks and compliance searches
• Maintaining central risk registers (complaints, PI notifications, etc.)
• Assisting with internal file reviews
• Researching regulatory and risk‑related issues
• Keeping up to date with legal and regulatory changes
• Collaborating with the wider business support team

Required profile

• Strong communicator with excellent written accuracy
• Highly organised and able to work to tight deadlines
• Minimum 2 years’ litigation experience
• Housing disrepair knowledge beneficial but not essential
• Confident engaging with senior stakeholders
• IT literate and client‑focused

Required skills

• Proclaim CMS experience (advantageous)
