Conflict Analyst

About the role

The Conflict Analyst will join the Operations department of a leading law firm, working within the Client Intake Team of the Risk and Best Practice function. Based in Bristol (with flexible options for Edinburgh), you will support the firm’s risk management framework by ensuring client and matter onboarding is efficient, compliant, and delivers an excellent client experience.

Key responsibilities

• Review, triage and analyse conflicts reports, conducting thorough research to ensure legal compliance.
• Assess legal and commercial conflicts, including confidentiality matters, to protect client and firm interests.
• Liaise with lawyers, partners and the Risk and Best Practice Team to resolve potential conflicts promptly.
• Implement agreed risk mitigations and maintain information barriers, client lock‑downs and clean‑team arrangements.
• Perform ad‑hoc conflict searches for urgent matters and pitches, adapting quickly under pressure.
• Maintain InTapp blackbooks and contribute to continuous improvement of conflicts management systems.
• Draft and update conflicts‑related policies, procedures and templates for internal and external use.

Required profile

• Experience in law‑firm risk, compliance or conflicts management functions.
• Strong analytical mindset with meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively across legal and business teams.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
