Construction Associate / Senior Associate (Non‑contentious) Solicitor

About the role

Our client, a well‑established full‑service law firm, is expanding its Real Estate team and seeks a Construction Associate or Senior Associate to work on non‑contentious construction matters. The role offers client‑facing exposure, mentoring from senior colleagues and a clear progression pathway within a supportive, hybrid‑working environment.

Key responsibilities

• Advise developers, contractors, consultants and funders on commercial development projects, including mixed‑use and residential schemes.
• Support real‑estate finance transactions and strategic land and affordable‑housing work.
• Draft and negotiate JCT and NEC contracts, including tailored amendments.
• Prepare and negotiate professional appointments, collateral warranties, bonds, guarantees and bespoke construction documentation.
• Collaborate with the wider real‑estate team and, when required, support construction‑related dispute work.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with at least 3 years post‑qualification experience (3PQE+).
• Experience in non‑contentious construction matters and a solid understanding of construction law and dispute‑resolution processes.
• Interest or experience in clean and renewable energy projects (desirable).
• Strong client‑management and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proactive mindset and enthusiasm for professional development.

Required skills

• Drafting and negotiating JCT contracts.
• Drafting and negotiating NEC contracts.
• Knowledge of construction law.
• Experience with real‑estate finance documentation.
