Construction Estimator – Bedford

About the role

We are seeking a Construction Estimator to join our client’s team in Bedford on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and supporting the tender process for commercial and industrial projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates, tender pricing and bid submissions.
• Review drawings, specifications and project documentation.
• Obtain and analyse quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Perform quantity take‑offs and detailed cost analysis.
• Identify and highlight potential risks.
• Communicate effectively with clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Support project handovers.

Required profile

• Previous experience estimating within commercial/industrial construction.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials and technical drawings.
• Excellent numerical ability and analytical skills.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with estimating software.
