Construction Lecturer – Greater Manchester

About the role

Reed Further Education is seeking enthusiastic construction professionals to join further‑education colleges across Greater Manchester as lecturers. You will help shape the next generation of skilled builders by delivering practical, industry‑aligned teaching on a full‑time, temporary or sessional basis.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging construction lessons for learners of varying abilities.
• Teach vocational and practical construction subjects, covering current industry standards.
• Assess student work, provide constructive feedback and monitor progress.
• Track attendance, achievement and wellbeing, maintaining accurate learner records.
• Create a positive, inclusive and safe learning environment.
• Collaborate with curriculum teams to continuously improve teaching and learning.

Required profile

• Level 3 qualification (or higher) in a construction‑related discipline.
• Relevant industry experience within construction.
• Recognised teaching qualification.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to motivate learners from diverse backgrounds.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Desirable: experience teaching in further education or apprenticeships, knowledge of health & safety legislation, assessor or IQA qualifications.
