Consultant in Paediatric Plastic Surgery

About the role

This is a senior consultant position within one of the largest paediatric plastic surgery departments in the UK, based at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality paediatric burns and plastic surgery care, with a specialist interest in facial palsy.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive paediatric plastic surgery and burns treatment.
• Lead the specialised Moebius Syndrome service and contribute to facial palsy management.
• Participate in a 1:6 on‑call rota for plastic surgery, including burns.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of therapists, psychologists, neurologists and surgeons.
• Develop a second subspecialist interest as opportunities arise.

Required profile

• Qualified consultant in plastic surgery with extensive paediatric experience.
• Demonstrated interest and experience in facial palsy and microsurgery.
• Commitment to multidisciplinary teamwork and patient‑centred care.
