Consumer Protection and Advertising Co‑ordinator

About the role

Join ASDA’s Legal & Compliance team as a Consumer Protection and Advertising Co‑ordinator. You will help shape the retailer’s compliance programme, ensuring that pricing, advertising and age‑restricted sales meet evolving regulatory standards while supporting commercial innovation.

Key responsibilities

• Provide practical consumer‑protection and advertising advice on pricing, claims, age‑restricted sales and promotional activities.
• Support the Challenge 25 test‑purchase programme and manage related business administration.
• Assist with the implementation of new regulatory requirements, including Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act provisions and consumer‑protection legislation such as the Price Marking Order and Deposit Return Schemes.
• Monitor retail compliance trends and recommend business responses.
• Develop, review and maintain policies, procedures and guidance documents.
• Design and deliver training on advertising, environmental claims and consumer‑protection obligations.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify risks, implement controls and drive continuous improvement.
• Investigate Trading Standards enquiries, determine root causes and advise on corrective actions.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of UK consumer‑protection and advertising regulations.
• Experience working in a retail or compliance environment.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective communication skills for advising business teams and delivering training.
