Consumer Regulatory Senior Associate (5+ PQE) – Birmingham/Hybrid

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Consumer Regulatory Solicitor to join a leading international law firm’s Commercial team. The role is based in Edgbaston, West Midlands, and operates on a hybrid basis, offering the chance to work with high‑profile consumer brands across retail, food, FMCG and hospitality.

Key responsibilities

• Provide commercially focused advice on consumer protection, product compliance, safety, labelling, marketing, advertising, sustainability and green‑claims.
• Manage regulatory investigations, enforcement actions and liaise with bodies such as the CMA and Trading Standards.
• Advise on product risk management, recalls, incident response and cross‑border regulatory matters.
• Supervise junior lawyers, develop client relationships and contribute to practice growth.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years post‑qualification experience in a recognised commercial or regulatory practice.
• Strong technical knowledge of consumer protection legislation and product compliance.
• Excellent drafting, communication and commercial awareness.
• Experience with retail, FMCG, food, hospitality or manufacturing clients is advantageous.

Required skills

• In‑depth understanding of UK consumer regulatory framework.
• Ability to interpret and apply product safety and labeling standards.
• Experience handling regulatory investigations and enforcement proceedings.
