Contract Consultant – Workforce Planning (Onsite)

About the role

We are looking for an onsite Contract Consultant to support a busy manufacturing and production facility in Slough. Working from a shared office on the client’s site, you will manage day‑to‑day workforce planning and people‑management for around 170 temporary associates across key production departments.

Key responsibilities

• Deploy temporary associates daily across manufacturing and production areas, creating and maintaining workforce plans aligned with production demand.
• Make tactical allocation decisions, moving associates between departments based on skills, experience and operational priorities.
• Collaborate with client management to understand changing labour requirements and respond quickly to operational challenges.
• Use workforce management systems, planning tools, geofencing technology and clock‑in/out platforms, maintaining accurate data and skills matrices.
• Act as first point of contact for associate queries, conduct employee‑relations conversations, manage attendance, punctuality and performance matters.
• Run onsite associate surgeries, engagement sessions and manage holiday requests to ensure coverage.
• Process weekly payroll, resolve pay queries and handle daily attendance reporting.

Required profile

• Experience in workforce planning, employee relations and attendance management within a manufacturing or production environment.
• Ability to make real‑time tactical decisions to meet production demands.
• Strong relationship‑building skills with both associates and operational managers.
