Contract Electrical Maintenance Engineer – Food Manufacturing

About the role

Gap Technical is seeking a Contract Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join a BRC‑accredited food manufacturing site in Colne. The role focuses on planned maintenance of critical assets, ensuring operational continuity and minimising downtime across production lines.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out planned maintenance tasks on mechanical and electrical equipment according to the maintenance schedule.
• Maintain accurate records, including equipment logs, inspections and repair documentation.
• Collaborate with production and hygiene teams to schedule and complete maintenance activities.
• Ensure all work complies with food safety standards, health and safety regulations and BRC accreditation requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a maintenance engineering role, preferably within a food manufacturing or BRC‑regulated environment.
• Multi‑skilled engineer with an electrical bias, capable of working on both mechanical and electrical systems.
• Familiarity with industrial food processing machinery and food safety regulations.
• Strong communication skills, proactive attitude and ability to work independently.
