Contracts & Procurement Lawyer (Hybrid)

About the role

Tonbridge & Malling Borough Council is looking for an experienced Contracts & Procurement Lawyer to join its legal team. The role offers a hybrid working model and involves advising on high‑profile procurement and commercial matters that support the council’s strategic priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide specialist legal advice on high‑value contract tenders and procurement compliance.
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts, funding and grant agreements.
• Support framework and partnership arrangements, as well as consultancy agreements.
• Work closely with internal clients to deliver practical, solution‑focused advice.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with proven experience in contracts and public‑sector procurement.
• Strong understanding of procurement governance and commercial law.
• Ability to manage a varied workload and communicate clearly with non‑legal stakeholders.
